Visitors had the opportunity to stroll through a magnificently decorated Model Home built by Quality Engineered Homes. Quality has been creating model homes and cottages everywhere in Ontario for decades. They are known as Canada’s leading “Precision Built” Home Builder and the R2000 eco smart homes. Their home was on display and available for touring throughout all 4 days of the show.

Environmental and Energy issues are high on everyone’s priority list. If you had questions, we had hundreds of knowledgeable exhibitors who were excited to answer them and demonstrate how you could achieve comfort and environmental responsibility.



The Green Street Pavilion had over 30,000 sq. ft. of smart, innovative, state-of-the-art “GREEN” products, services and building technologies. From Energy Star Products to GREEN BUILD sustainable construction, Recycling to Renewable Energy Systems, everything you needed to know was here. From a few simple changes and some common sense, you can save big green dollars.



Lynn Spence: Return to the Classics- Let’s Get Creative.

Let’s return to the classics! We want our homes to reflect today’s trends but a complete makeover is expensive. So Lynn took us through how we could update our home to a classical contemporary style. By changing fabrics, hardware and a little rearranging of the furniture we could go this Fall and the holiday season in style. Today we are back to familiar but with a modern feel in fabric, paint and purpose. Lynn will also gave us great tips on holiday settings

Karl Lohnes: Affordable Upgrades For Your Home.

Karl Lohnes, Home & Decor Expert, Canada AM and Style At Home and one of Canada's most trusted decorating authorities had some great suggestions! "Making a house look stylish; whether its a new builder-beige or worn-out family home doesn't have to cost a lot and can look really fantastic" says Karl. Learn the three upgrades that can dramatically change your house (and adding some value), the new trendy paint colours will stick around the longest, and of course Karl will dispense many other decorating tips and rules throughout his presentation. After each stage presentation Karl answered one-on-one decorating questions for 30 minutes so we brought our photos, floor plans and swatches!

HGTV’s Peter Fallico of "Home to Flip" gave us great renovating and decorating ideas that are both cost effective and stylish. Peter's presentation journeyed us through some of his greatest before and after projects. After watching Peter, we left with new found ideas for the fall season. Renovating and Decorating ideas.

Bryan Baeumler: Don’t Try at Home or Alone.

First Home? Needs a Little or a lot of TLC? No Money? So you thought that you would try to renovate on your own. HGTV’s hit show DIY Disaster’s Bryan Baeumler helped us avoid the common pitfalls of renovating. Bryan helped first time home buyers and DIY'ers know when they can do it themselves successfully and when they should call in the experts. Also, Bryan introduced us to his new show the House of Bryan with all the new eco smart ideas all in one home.

Peter Love: Your Environment and You.

Peter taught us what we could do today to Make the Future Greener! Ontario’s Chief Energy Conservation Officer educated all of us on the best ways to make the world more environmentally friendly, our home “greener” and how to save our hard earned dollars.

Frank Ferragine: Planning and Planting Spring Surprises in the Fall.

We saw what the hottest bulbs are these days with BT’s Frankie Flowers! Just in time for Fall planting. Frankie's 2009 trip to the Netherlands (with the international Bulb Council) inspired us by allowing us to see the wonderful world of spring blooming bulbs with pictures.
Jason Parsons: The Art of Wine and Food.
City Line’s Chef Jason Parsons showcased his passion for wine and food. Jason helped us wow our guests this entertaining season as he creates two recipes that were hand crafted with Peller Estates Family Series. Chardonnay and Cabernet Merlot. Jason was joined by Peller Estates sommelier Peggy Scofield.

Colette Rabba: Top 10 Decorator Secrets.

Colette taught us ways on how to improve our interior spaces, sometimes even with the things you already own. We all learned simple tricks of the trade on how to create a home that’s comfortable and pleasing to the eye by using these easy to follow ideas. These fun and easy tips inspired the audience to make their interiors look like they hired a decorator

Vicky Sanderson: The Reluctant Recessionista.

You know you should be cutting back, but what’s life without those elegant extras that are the reward for all the hard work you do? Products specialist Vicky Sanderson showed visitors how to add a little luxury to their life without breaking the bank. She’ll looked at everything from cookware to skin care, showing us ways to save with style.

Massimo Capra: Celebration of Flavors.

From sweet pumpkins and mushrooms to apples, figs and pears, the fall brings us a bounty of rich flavors hard to miss and easy to work with, we joined Massimo while he prepared some new and old recipes close to his heart.

Ken showed us how to cook gourmet main meals for two for under $10. Ken showed us how to create delicious, restaurant quality meals easily and economically.

Mark Nazar: The Art of Renovation – “Where to Spend and Where Not"

Picking the right home for the right reasons is simple. Mark showed us what to look for and what to avoid. Whether it be long term or short term. Where to spend your dollars and where not to. Mark helped us with budget and agenda tips that are crucial to success.

Ezra Title: Tease your taste buds.

Chef Ezra Title teased our taste buds with great gourmet food and it was good for us too.

Melisa Maker: Eco Friendly Tips and cleaning Products

We learned all the Eco Friendly Tips and cleaning products that help keep your home clean and friendly.

Marissa Mctasney : Women in the workshop

We joined Moxie Trades Tool Girl , Marissa Mctasney and saw how women can be in the workshop.


Moti Berlad: Dream Bathrooms- Where Do You Start?

In the confusing world of bathroom renovations its difficult to know where to start. With 26 years of experience building bathrooms Moti Berlad brought a unique perspective on bathroom design. We learned how to budget for that dream bathroom or simply get some answers on design and product information.



The Décor Design Gallery, sponsored by Walls, Windows Furnishings Association, allowed visitors to discover a wonderful world of colour and imagination by viewing stunning Model Room Vignettes created by some of the industries finest decorators and interior designers. Visitors also experienced an impressive display of interior design products, home accents, window and wall furnishings and much more as knowledgeable exhibitors revealed the latest style trends.

Members of the Walls, Windows Furnishings Association were on hand once again to answer any decorating dilemmas. A qualified professional interior decorator was happy to spend 15 minutes discussing personal decorating needs with visitors. Homeowners were encouraged to bring samples, pictures, questions and plans with them for a FREE Complimentary Consultation.

Pamper yourself in the Kitchen, Bath & Spa Showcase

Renovating Kitchen & Bathrooms are top of the list for anyone doing major home improvements. Visitors were invited to check out the Kitchen, Bath & Spa Showcase to see the latest and greatest in Kitchen and Bathroom designs, innovations and products. Visitors could pamper their senses in 3,000 sq. ft. of creative comfort, enjoying interesting and unique ideas designed to inspire comfort, efficiency and style.

A Builder's Paradise

Visitors with building or renovation questions conversed with experts who were happy to answer their questions. Renovation World, located in Hall 2, emphasized the most up-to-date building and renovation products. Canada's Best Home Builders could be seen on Dream Builders Walk in Hall 3.
